The sixth annual Hair Donation Drive, organized by the Social Justice office, took place on Tuesday, March 27 with 20 students and one faculty member donating eight or more inches of their hair. The donated hair will be given to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which provides free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society's wig banks. Cash donations were also collected for those who wanted to support the drive. Stylists from Progressions salon in Rockville generously donated their time and talent to cut and style the donors' hair. The salon provided the donors with gift bags of sample products, coupons, and gift certificates to the salon. Melissa Manuel Leonard '89, a five-year cancer survivor, spoke about her experience with breast cancer, losing her hair and how receiving a real-hair wig made a big difference during her cancer battle.
