Hadleigh Locraft '20 Organizes Charity Event

Hadleigh Locraft '20 recently helped organize a teen gala supporting a local organization for individuals with disabilities. The "Journey to inspire, a gala for teens creating change" took place on Sunday, February 11 at the Fillmore in Silver Spring for over 500 teens. Hadleigh served on the planning committee, working on all aspects of the event with a team of other teens since August 2017. The event included a silent auction, dinner, dancing, and inspirational speakers such as Deborah Phelps (mother of Michael Phelps) and John Franklin Stephens. The event supported the organization Devenio, which works to provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Hadleigh personally raised $1,205 for the event through a website promoting the gala and Devenio.
