The AHC Transformers robotics team competed against 38 other teams in the second Chesapeake Region’s Northern Maryland FIRST robotics competition Friday-Sunday, March 17-19. This is the second competition for the team. The team advanced to the playoffs and won both quarterfinal matches, and earned the single highest score of the entire competition. Overall, they placed 12th out of 39 teams—a huge accomplishment for only their second competition. Holy Cross was the only all-girls team at the event with the only female driver of the 39 teams.

Additionally, the team received two special awards—the Rookie All-Star and the Highest Rookie Seed awards. The Rookie All-Star award "celebrates the rookie team exemplifying a young but strong partnership effort, as well as implementing the mission of FIRST to inspire students to learn more about science and technology." The Highest Rookie Seed award recognizes the highest scoring rookie team on the competition field.

The team hopes that the points they have earned in their competitions will enable them to qualify for the Chesapeake region’s district championships in Richmond, VA in April.
