This summer Jade Parchment ’18 committed to North Carolina State to play volleyball. The Washington Post featured Jade in an article about her journey to this decision on Tuesday, August 30.
Jade was a “Setter” in the 2014 season in her freshman year. She ran a "5-1" offense for Holy Cross, meaning she was the only Setter on the court. Jade captured the single season record for assists by a setter with 630 assists in her freshman year. She also captured second on the all-time list of aces with 69. Jade also had the match winning “kill” against Paul VI in the WCAC Championship final. As a sophomore Jade switched to play the “Opposite” position to improve the team’s offense. The “Opposite” is the position that is opposite the setter in the six-person rotation in volleyball. Jade recorded 260 kills (an attack for a point) and 194 digs.
