On Saturday, March 3, four girls represented Holy Cross at the Model United Nations Conference at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. Students from 30 public and private schools in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC came together for the conference. Holy Cross delegates: Rebecca Bisrat '20, Eileen Dinn '19, Arden Ireland '18 and Claire Guarini '18, represented France and Sweden working on the Syrian crisis. Arden and Claire received an Honorable Mention award for their work.
Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly and other governing bodies. Participants in Model UN explore the fundamentals of the United Nations to better understand our world and foster international awareness. Opportunities are presented for students to learn how to debate, moderate, collaborate, and problem solve under various circumstances.
